Bloomin' 'eck, Ray - I'm not sure that I'd put it that strongly.

Even so, well done for putting your head over the parapet. Offhand, it's hard to think of anything much more polluting or threatening to wildlife than a two-day display by military aircraft over a Site of Special Scientific Interest - good job it wasn't at Bempton Cliffs.

Very likely.

Sadly, the vast majority of people couldn't tell a house martin from a sparrow, and wouldn't even want to; but It's no problem attracting 200,000 of them to Cleethorpes to worship our weapons of war tearing through the sky.  Unfortunately those of us who put more store by the wonders of nature are relaively few and far between.

Swallows and the odd Martin, looking like the Buck beck lock gates have had a bumper year. Counted 30 fledglings and can still hear tweets coming from under the gates. Adults constantly flying in, and also feeding the young outside on the walls.

43 curlew on outer beach roost at high tide (8.50pm) this evening. Not much else about, though swifts were conspicuous over prom.

A great opportunity to see quite a good number of fledged swallows at the Buck beck outflow now. Adults still flying under the lock gates, so it looks like there may be numbers still waiting to appear too.
