The Birds of Louth (2nd Edition)

Cost: £12.00 + £3.00 post and packing

Phil Espin writes:

Many of you will have known former County Recorder John Clarkson who tragically died of a brain tumour last August. Before he fell ill, he and I were working on a 2nd edition of his Birds of Louth (2007).  It was his last wish that it should be published.  I am pleased to say it just has been, 148 pages, soft back, lavishly illustrated with excellent colour photographs and accounts of all 195 species recorded in Louth, taken by John and friends and written by me, edited by John’s wife Nicky and produced by his brother in law Geoff Mullett. The book also has a full up to date 407 species Lincolnshire Checklist with Louth birds highlighted.

Birds of Louth

Copies will cost £10 purchased direct from the production team or £12 from local retail outlets to be determined, or online from www.lincsbirdclub.co.uk/sales which will incur a postage charge. You can also contact Nicky direct on nickymclarkson@btinternet.com and arrange collection from a mutually convenient point in central Louth by arrangement. I will be bringing copies to all LBC events over the next year or so and selling them for £10. I’ll also carry a stock in my car so if you are prepared to be patient ask me for a copy when you see me out birding. I also have a slideshow and talk I’ve produced based on the book called “50 years of birding in Louth: changing, times changing birds” for promoting the book. If you have a local group to speak to please contact me on chairman@lincsbirdclub.co.uk.

Any profit from the book will be donated to brain tumour research.
