Impressive sales performance by bird books at auction this week

A  hammer price of £580 was achieved for a collection of secondhand ornithological titles when it went under the hammer yesterday afternoon.

This was comfortably higher than the pre-sale guide price of between £300 and £400.

The sale was conducted by auction house Dominic Winter at Cirencester in Gloucestershire
