Thanks Nick......Little Grebe is a new site-sighting... as indeed most birds are at this stage!
Just so people know, for my own interest as much as anything, I am keeping a ‘master list’ of all the species seen on the site. So please do pop things in the Sightings Book in the hide.... particularly if there is anything new. It will be really interesting to see how it all develops over coming years.

First time here this morning (13/08/19) before going to Killingholme Haven. Had a couple of hours and saw:
10 (!) grey heron
2 little egrets
little ringed plover
little grebe
wagtails
linnets
buzzard (being chased first by crows, and then by a heron0
peregrine
sparrowhawk
various gulls
swallows
shelduck

A brief (1 hour) visit this evening produced 23 species of bird. Highlights:

Hi Joy,
A good number of species so far for this new site, which keeps getting better.
It will be interesting to see what species put in appearance as autumn migration gets into full swing!

By my reckoning it’s 45 species.
That includes all those I have seen; those heard but not seen (Chiffy and Willow W) ; those seen by you (and any others put in Sightings Book) that I haven’t seen!

I have been told that work by Northern Electric on site will be completed by next Tuesday.
Whimbrel is a nice site tick. Out of interest how many species have you recorded there?
