There was one on Cleethorpes boating lake last year. It hung around for quite awhile, and did follow the mutes whenever they ventured out.

There was one with some Whoopers on Nocton Fen last week. Some do live in the wild from escapees and some have bred in the wild but not thought to be a sustainable population. There used to be quite a few in Bourne but their numbers have fallen.

Hi, Just a quick query - I saw a Black Swan on Nocton Heath in a large flock of Mute Swans today,Is this likely to be an escapee? Please forgive me as I have been away from birding for many, many years and only blew the dust off my scope last year, so my birding knowledge is quite rusty, Best wishes, Steve
