Lack of contributors

I joined the LBC in the 1980's and when the Forum first appeared it was one of the few ways to circulate information and had lots and lots of contributors.  Social Media has overtaken it and there are now many ways that the LBC can glean records for the Annual Report.  Chris has done a great job with his Sightings Section but if the contributors were to put those same records on Bird Track the LBC has access to them and Chris's sightings become redundant.
In my opinion the Forum has had its day as a means entering records.  If the few stalwarts want to continue contributing that's fine but all my records will continue to be on Bird Track  and DemOn ( the Ringing data entry system).

Similar appeal from me, Alan. Although never a regular contributor, I have always enjoyed reading your sightings at MSQ, which I have visited in the past but
no longer get out anywhere near as much as I used to. Your reports are valuable, in that they take me back to the place as well as keeping me up to date with
what is there. It effectively keeps me birding. It would be sad to lose your input. Please give it a little thought, as Jim asks of you.

Thank you, Stuart, for continuing to post.

Alan, I earnestly implore you to have a change of heart. Your membership is greatly valued as are your posts from Messingham. The Forum viewing figures may be low, but those few (including me) who 'tune in' value them greatly. I find it very interesting to compare with what's turning up in your area with what's happening in mine. Please, please reconsider!

Yes you are right Alan - very few members use the forum to post their sightings. Just eleven over September and October
I wish I had realized that you posted on BirdTrack as that would have saved my some hours in putting your sightings from the Forum in to the database and formatting them too

Of course without the sightings (in whatever format they are received) we wouldn't get the excellent bird report. Keep sending your sightings in
